First Home Buyer Grants Queensland
First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) Cap
From 1 January 2010, the Queensland government has introduced a property value threshold of $1,000,000; only properties below this value may be eligible for the first home owner grant.
Queensland – first home buyer stamp duty concessions
In addition to the federal government’s First Home Owners’ Grant, as at September 2008 the Queensland Government offers additional financial incentives for eligible first home buyers in the form of stamp duty concessions on transfer stamp duty. Under the concession scheme, a first home buyer will pay no stamp duty on properties up to the value of $500,000; properties valued between $500,000 and $600,000 will be eligible for partial exemption calculated on a sliding scale.
