I have more than 19 years experience in banking and finance, and have worked extensively in home loan lending both in a bank and as a mortgage broker.

The inner west of Sydney is quite a diverse area and gives me the opportunity to work with a lot of different buyer types. I really enjoy finding solutions for my clients whether they are buying a first home, new property or investment property.

Larger home loans

It’s important if you are borrowing a large amount of money to make sure you are getting a good deal. If your loan is greater than $700,000, a small change in your interest rate could save you quite a significant amount of money of the term of your home loan, simply because you are dealing with some big numbers. The more you can save, the better obviously, and I am very good at negotiating interest rate discounts for borrowers with larger loan sizes.

First home buyers

First home buyers are a specialty as I make the process easy to understand. I also work closely with local real estate agents and together we can help you find the right property and give you some tips on negotiating price for a property.

Federal government grants and other benefits are applicable, and as such I will assess your circumstances to ensure you receive all of the financial assistance you’re entitled to. This includes the First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) and stamp duty concessions.

If you’re buying a property up to $600,000 (in NSW), the grants and concessions could save a first home buyer tens of thousands of dollars, giving them a huge headstart without even taking into account their own contribution/savings for the purchase.

It was fate or pure luck that I made an appointment to see Paula, the same time that I found my first apartment. I was completely naïve and had no idea of the purchasing process. Paula cleared all issues up for me and subsequently paved the way for me to seamlessly sign on the dotted line and now I happily write this note from my soon to be renovated sunroom looking over East Sydney. Thank you very much Paula!

Investment finance

When investing in property, it’s important to get the loan structure right to avoid tax complications and set you up for further investment if desired. Often it’s beneficial to set up an offset account attached to your investment loan as opposed to a redraw option. I can work with you and your financial planner or accountant to ensure your investment loan matches your finances and goals, particularly when a trust (family, unit or hybrid) or other complex financial structure is involved.

Our deadline was extremely tight when we called Paula – so much so that our solicitor thought we would have to put off settlement for a week while the finance was sorted. Thanks to Paula, we settled on time.
Scott, Newtown

Finance for divorcees

I have a good understanding of the divorce process, having gone through it myself! I do the finance calculations for either party buying out the other party, or any other scenarios clients require, before they make the decision on what their agreement with their ex-partners should be. I have a lot of empathy for people going through this difficult stage of their life.

Community involvement and assistance

I am a big supporter of charities including Greenpeace, Wilderness Society, Unicef, Barnados and the WWF. For every loan settled, I donate $20 to either one of these charities, or your charity of choice.

For any client with a child at Annandale North Public School, I will also donate $200 to the school upon settlement of any loan of $100,000 or more. (Not in conjunction with any other offers).

Sydney inner west customers

I have been living and working in the inner west of Sydney for 20 years and work with clients in Newtown, Stanmore, Annandale, Leichhardt, Marrickville, Balmain, Lilyfield, Ashfield, Petersham, Lewisham and Summer Hill.

Obtaining a mortgage through Paula @ Loan Market was an easy process. Paula handled the logistics and kept the financial jargon to simple and understandable terms. A delightful person to deal with and I am extremely happy with the mortgage package offered. Thank you.

This was my first experience using a broker and definitely won’t be my last. Paula’s expertise and knowledge made the whole loan process so smooth and painless. I’ll definitely use your services in the future and have already been recommending you to friends.

Fantastic, very professional at all times. Our situation changes several times over a period of 18 months and the service we received was flexible and adapted to our needs throughout. We could not have done it without you Paula.
