About Andre Pretorius

Following a period of more than 30 years in retail and business banking, I joined Loan Market as a mortgage and finance broker. My aim is to be recognised as a broker that provides clients with direct access to lenders, and who manages a client’s finances as I would my own.

Property Finance

Pre-approving your home loan

A home loan pre-approval is a great way to ensure you know how much you can afford to pay for a property before you even start looking. A written pre-approval can also give you an advantage when negotiating on a property with a vendor, as opposed to someone who has no pre-approval or finance in place. Home loan pre-approvals are generally valid for about three months. I will help you compare lenders and products to find the solution that’s right for you.

Paying the deposit

Most banks and lenders require a minimum deposit of up-to 5 per cent of the value of the property you are purchasing. Depending on the lender and your individual situation, you may be able to fund your deposit from a number of sources, not just your personal savings.

First home buyers

Buying your first home is an exciting experience, but there is a lot to think about.

My role is to simplify the process for you, and assist in comparing products and lenders, so you choose the loan that’s right for you. If you qualify for the First Home Owners Grant, or any other state government first home buyer's assistance, I will help you fill out the paperwork too.

Refinancing an existing mortgage

Your financial health is as important as your personal health, and there are a number of reasons when changing your mortgage conditions makes sense. A change in interest rates is one reason. By changing from a fixed rate to a variable rate, or vice-versa, or even combining rates in a split loan can save you money and put cash back in your pocket. Another reason for refinancing your mortgage is to access any equity you’ve already built up in your home, again making cash available for other expenses, such as further home improvements or that dream holiday.

The most important thing to consider is if refinancing will place you in a better position than you would be if you stayed with your current loan. I will assist you in comparing your current and projected costs and any savings, and if you decide that refinancing is the right move for you, I will help you complete all the necessary paperwork.
