Brett Richardson named Motor Vehicle and Equipment Finance Broker of the Year

Loan Market’s Brett Richardson took out one of the top awards at the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) Excellence Awards in Western Australia, taking home the title of Motor Vehicle and Equipment Finance Broker of the Year.

Mr Richardson was recognised for achieving ongoing excellence in asset finance broking.  As the Owner of Loan Market Ellenbrook, approximately 25 km north-east of Perth CBD, he leads a team of two client service managers and two loan writers who service the Swan Valley area but also have clients all over the state.
In 2017 Mr Richardson increased his asset finance business by 21 per cent; utilising social media and online advertising to grow his database of clients.

Upon winning Mr Richardson thanked his dedicated team and his clients.
“I am extremely humbled to win this award and would like to acknowledge the ongoing support of our loyal customer base and the entire Loan Market team,” he said.

“In an extremely tough WA housing market, I’m proud of the diverse financial service offering our business supplies to our customers,” said Mr Richardson.

Seeing a gap in the Western Australian finance space and knowing that to service his clients holistically Mr Richardson grew his business to include services for all stages of life. In fact, from servicing only the home loan category eight years ago, he now offers investment loans, construction loans, commercial loans, SMSF, asset finance, Financial Planning and ALI insurance in addition to home loans.  Loan Market Ellenbrook truly is a one-stop-shop.

Ken Maclennan, Loan Market’s WA State Director, congratulated Mr Richardson on his achievement, highlighting the brokers generosity in mentoring colleagues who start out in the asset finance space.

“Brett proactively and selflessly works with each broker and their clients until they gain a clear understanding of all of the different structures and processes, ensuring an optimal customer outcome every time,” Mr Maclennan said.

“He gives his time generously to both brokers within the network and his clients.”

Asset finance services include assisting clients with chattel mortgages, hire purchase and leasing. According to Mr Richardson, there can be significant tax implications for a client if this finance is not setup correctly, so he advises working with a specialist asset finance broker to work through these complex items.

Loan Market Ellenbrook’s Tania Richardson was also a finalist in the Loan Administrator of the year category.
