Loan Market expands into Sutherland

At a time when record development is planned for the area and the local property market outlook is strong, Sutherland buyers have more expertise to draw on when considering their mortgage options, with Loan Market’s Ciaran Leahy expanding his business to Sutherland.

In partnership with Matt Debreczeni and Gavin Ottaway, current Principals at Ray White Menai, the trio recently opened a second office at 770 Old Princes Highway, Sutherland – a stone’s throw from the train station.

But they’re in agreement: “We don’t want to be just another real estate and mortgage agency, we want to be a part of the Sutherland community and give residents a higher level of service, care and results, across all aspects of the property transaction.”

Ciaran say the expansion was a natural step for the business. “The Menai and Sutherland markets are similar and geographically very close – when the opportunity came up to take on an office in Sutherland, we jumped at it.”

And he knows firsthand how choosing the right lender can give buyers confidence to put in a higher offer – in some cases a lender might approve $200,000 more than others to help you get the property you love.

Ciaran’s top tip – before you think about making an offer, it’s worth speaking with your local Loan Market broker who will:

  • Work with over 30 lenders – to ensure you’re aware of your maximum borrowing capacity
  • Organise a pre-approval – essentially giving you the green light from a lender to spend up to a certain amount
  • Put you in a much better negotiating position – by ensuring your finance is approved with the right lender for your needs.

By arranging your finance first, you can be streets ahead of other buyers when the time comes to make an offer – not a bad idea in the current property climate.
