Loan Market NSW Gives Back
The Loan Market NSW Broker Team has run its first annual “Gifts for Kids” charity run by giving away 70 Christmas presents to children in need this holiday season.
Loan Market NSW State Manager Michael Karpathakis said the NSW Broker Steering Committee came up with a unique idea to support a charity that would benefit children who were less fortunate during Christmas time.
Mr Karpathakis said that at the NSW Broker Christmas party earlier in the month there was a Christmas tree decorated with tags that listed a specific present an underprivileged child asked for. All brokers and lenders who attended were encouraged to pick a tag and return with a present at the state’s final PD day on December 11th.
“At our PD we brought in the same Christmas tree from the party and as our brokers arrived the presents begun to pile up under the tree. It was such an inspirational site to see not just strong support for this cause, but the effort put into getting these children the gifts they wanted for Christmas,” Mr Karpathakis said.
After the PD finished the team delivered the gifts to Barnardos Charity Office in Sydney where the wrapped presents will be distributed out to the all the children.
“We’re so excited about being able to participate in such a wonderful cause and look forward to doing this many years to come. I’m so proud that our broker team came up with such a supportive idea and put so much effort into making this a wonderful initiative.”
Mr Karpathakis said the gifts ranged from crafts, clothes, scooters, stuffed animals and superhero toys.
“At the end of the day, we’re doing this to give back to our community and hopefully put some smiles on the faces of those who are doing it tough,” Mr Karpathakis said.
The NSW Broker Steering Committee is made up of the top performing brokers in the state and is planning several more charity drives this upcoming year.
