Mick O’Shea named MFAA Young Gun of the Year
Loan Market broker Mick O’Shea has been named MFAA Young Gun of the Year at the Australian Mortgage Awards 2018.
Mr O’Shea commenced his broking career in 2016, after a successful 20-year career in banking. His reputation for exceptional customer service has followed him from his previous career, and he is still contacted by former banking clients now and is able to provide them with broking assistance.
Mr O’Shea is doing things differently - he developed a high touch business model in an attempt to address customer dissatisfaction with the loan approval process, which enabled him to hit $100 million in loan book value earlier this year with just two support staff.
Now working in his office in Bulimba, Mr O’Shea regularly travels up to 150 kilometres to service clients across the wider Brisbane area.
Loan Market Group Chairman Sam White congratulated Mr O’Shea on his win and said that his success was a great reflection of his passion for delivering outstanding results.
“Mick’s ability to change careers and maintain clients from the banking industry into broking is a testament to his dedication and passion for delivering the best experience. His win at the Australia Mortgage Awards in such a prestigious category is well deserved and a great reflection of the Loan Market family,” said Mr White.
“It’s brokers like Mick who show how dedicated our people are. We’re incredibly proud of him and we expect to see even more success from him in the future.”
“I’m proud that I can help people on their financial journeys and help them achieve their goals,” said Mr O’Shea.
“Winning this award is so humbling, it shows I’m on the right track with my service, and I’m excited to receive the recognition for my work and dedication.”
The Australian Mortgage Awards is an independent awards event for the mortgage industry, recognising excellence and highlighting the outstanding achievements of those in the business. Winning an Australian Mortgage Award is a career-defining moment for brokers and brokerages across Australia.
The MFAA Young Gun of the Year award recognises the broker who has displayed excellence in their first two years as a mortgage broker. Loan volumes, lead generation, quality of submissions, conversion rates and overall customer service are all considered in the judging.
