Mortgage Broker Takes Two National Awards
Loan Market Melbourne-based broker Josh Bartlett has been honoured at the Australian Mortgage Awards as the national Young Gun of the Year and as the Quality Young Gun of the Year at the 11th annual event.
Mr Bartlett, a former personal trainer and gymnasium owner who only took up mortgage broking early last year, won the coveted awards on Friday, October 5, at Sydney Town Hall.
The 32-year-old is based at Loan Market’s office at Cheltenham in Melbourne, which was also a finalist for ‘Best Customer Service from an Individual Office’.
Mr Bartlett has collected a number of honours this year including Loan Market’s International Rookie of the Year and he was also named among industry publication MPA’s top 12 young guns for 2012.
After writing his first loan in May last year, Mr Bartlett had a banner month in November, 2011, with settlements of $5.9 million and then in August 2012 he established a new personal best by settling just over $10 million. Josh now he aims to regularly settle $10 million a month.
“It’s a big ambition but I’m very lucky to work with a great team and within a great community,” he said.
Mr Bartlett said over the past year he was able to help a variety of clients in Melbourne achieve their dream of home ownership and help others negotiate better rates on their existing home loans.
Loan Market’s National Sales Director, Mark De Martino, said Loan Market was proud to have had Mr Bartlett and Townsville’s Phil Rogers nominated for the Young Gun Award.
“Josh and Phil have had an outstanding start to their careers in mortgage brokering and have received well deserved industry recognition,” Mr De Martino said.
“Loan Market is actively working to encourage more people into our industry through our broker academy programs.”
Mr De Martino congratulated all of Loan Market’s finalists at the Australian Mortgage Awards, which included its Sydney office for Best Customer Service as well as Loan Market Manningham in Melbourne for Best Brokerage under 5 staff.
