Shares Race

Sunday mornings over a coffee I always like to scan the Shares Race article in The Sunday Age, where 7 finance ‘experts’ and someone throwing darts randomly pit their skills against each other to see who can extract the highest returns from the share market, all players having started with the same seed capital.

Currently the “dart board” leads on $112,543 or ’9.6%’ ahead of its nearest rival an investment club sitting on $102,732 and a whopping ’21.6%’ ahead of fund manager John Aldersley of Aldersley Capital P/L who sits in last position on $92,514.

The couple of paragraphs of commentary that accompany the article show, post event, reasons why the market is behaving the way it is….supposedly.

As for John, this has got to be a nightmare PR exercise.
