Top three tips for buying a new home

If you're thinking of buying a new home, it's important you do your research and ensure you're ready to buy the minute you find the home of your dreams. Here are my three tips to help you.

1. Research, research, research. Look online for suburb profiles, and make sure you take to the streets to do some fieldwork around the local area. Is it important to you that you're close to public transport, shops, major roads or schools? Ensure you keep a list of what you want so you cna find a property that delivers what you need.

2. Talk to the experts. Speak to local agents, like my partners at Ray White Windsor, to find out what's happening in the market. You may not get your dream home right away - consider apartments instead of houses in the location you like as they're often more affordable.

3. Be prepared to buy. I can help you get an unconditional pre-approval which means you know how much you can spend and what your repayments will be.
